The little train that could
An accomplished handyman, Fernand Taillon is a former forestry worker who always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit. He was introduced to welding and working with aluminium in the mid-1980s, and founded Centre D’Aluminium in 1989, investing $150,000 in order to purchase specialized equipment that now allows him to manufacture, as he puts it: “absolutely anything”.
This investment in an industry that was still in its infancy at the time enabled Mr. Taillon to acquire a diversified clientele, including companies such as Hydro-Québec and Bell Canada (Ontario), forestry workers and vacationers.
From trailers to porches, and of course docks, this company that began in the Gatineau Valley is now in a position to fulfil the ever-growing demands of its clientele.
